My first retreat was when I was in 8th grade. At first I was very nervous because it was my first year at Inspiration and I didn’t know anyone. I had never been to a camp like this and I was about to go with a bunch of kids I didn’t know. The bus ride over to Camp Anderson was fun because I got to meet new people and teachers and we played some fun games to pass the time. Once we got to retreat we went straight to our cabins which would be our home for the next 3 days. I was with a few other boys in my grade along with 2 teachers and it seemed like we would have a fun time. During the 3 days i was there i made a lot of new friends and had a lot of fun with all the activities we got to do. Some of the activities were paintball, tubing, a riverboat, kayaking, a scavenger hunt, the blob, etc. There was also chapel services in the morning and evening of every day. It seemed like we all got closer to God and some students shared their testimonies by the campfire. Overall it was one of the best experiences of my life and im so glad I went.
